FAQ's

Can clients use my receipt (Canadian Certified Counsellor) in order to receive a deduction on taxes?

​Clients may be able to use any medical receipts that have not been reimbursed by health plans to receive deductions on their taxes. Typically, the medical expenses must add up to 3% of their income in order to have an effect.

Can my clients get reimbursed for my services?

Reimbursed by many Extended Health Care plans available. Please check with your group plan for RPC ( "Registered Professional Counsellor") and CCC (Canadian Certified Counsellor) coverage  Coverage may be possible with the following insurance companies depending on the plan: Pacific Blue Cross, Equitable Life, Greenshield, Johnston Group, and Sun Life. Coverage is not automatic and it is the client’s responsibility to contact their insurance company to determine if counselling services are included in their plan and to verify the service providers approved under the plan.

Will I have access to my file?

We provide access to your personal file at your request by appointment only. Files can not be transferred or duplicated without a subpoena.

Will my information be kept confidential?

Our commitment to you as our client ensures that we follow best practices of confidential record keeping subject to the conditions of your rights to confidentiality. Our record keeping and communication practices all follow HIPPA compliancy measures.

What payment options are available?

We accept Mastercard, Visa, Visa Debit, Mastercard, Amex, Paypal, E-Transfer, Cash, Cheque, and Money Order. We do not pre-bill for individual services. Retainers are required for programs. Registration fees are requested for Workshops and Groups. Final payment is only accepted after complete services have been rendered.

What is the Payment Policy?

 For Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy In-person, E-service, and Tele-Service: Payment is require after each service rendered.

For Programs In-person, E-service, and Tele-Service: A retainer of 25% of the program quote is required to commence services

​

For Groups and Workshops In-person, E-service, and Tele-Service: A non-refundable registration fee is required to secure your spot and payment in full at the start of the group or workshop commencing.

For Court attendance In-person, E-service, and Tele-Service: Fees are collected no later than 24 hours prior to attendance. If attendance is extended the remaining fees are subject to be paid within 14 days of the invoice being issued.

For Reports: All reports requested will receive a quote. Receiving a quote does not ensure that services will be expected to commence. Fees are subject to payment prior to the release of the reports and within 14 days of receiving the final invoice.

What is the Missed appointment and Cancellation Policy?

 For Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy In-person, E-service, and Tele-Services: Missed appointments and appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a Cancellation Fee of 100% of the original booking fee. Cancellations between 24-48 hours are subject to 50% of the original booking fee. Cancellations with more than 48 hours notice is free. These fees must be paid for prior to service continuing.

For Programs In-person, E-service, and Tele-Service: Missed appointments and appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a Cancellation Fee of 100% of the original booking fee. Cancellations between 24-48 hours are subject to 50% of the original booking fee. Cancellations with more than 48 hours notice is free. These fees must be paid for prior to service continuing and can be deducted from a retainer balance if a balance is available.

For Groups and Workshops In-person, E-service, and Tele-Service: Registration fees are non-refundable, however registration fees will be refunded if the Group or Workshop is cancelled by the facilitator.

For Court Attendance In-person, E-service, and Tele-Service: If the court date is moved or cancelled with less than 48 hours notice to the counsellor, a 50% fee will be charged. Rescheduling and cancelling with more than 48 hours notice to the counsellor is free

​

For Reports: If the report writing has commenced and is then cancelled mid-process there will be an invoice issued for hours of service rendered at a rate of $60.00 CAD per hour. Payment for the invoice is required within 14 days of the issue date. If report writing has not yet commenced there is no cancellation fee.

For Referrals: No cancellation fee
